All About Affiliate Business Opportunity

Affiliate Business Opportunity is the on-going experiences of a guy just trying to make a couple of bucks online.

Remembering to keep Fantasies and Goals a safe distance apart, Jon has been there. And there. And over there. Oh. and there, too. Bumping his head online, he was determined to figure this thing out.

And so it was that an extremely vain attempt at success was born.

Affiliate Business Opportunity will attempt to chronicle this journey from all angles, never too proud to expose the failures; never too “grown-up” to celebrate success. And one attitude/concept/ideal that I hope will find its way throughout the entire project: honesty. If there is one thing I have learned completely it’s that the truth, especially in regards to Online Marketing, is usually more outrageous, compelling, sadder and funnier than anything I could ever make up.

I also believe that honesty is in direct opposition to hype. And while you and I have each been taken down the yellow-brick road, we’ve gone willingly and with eyes wide open. I have seen, however, others hang their hopes and dreams on “hype”, and have seen the damage and hurt it can cause a family. My committment is that you will never, ever experience that here.

I am not a Goo-Roo and it’s not on my “To Do” list.

(I will never forget watching about a dozen Goo-Roos furiously backpedal while eating their words at the same time when the “Real Story” about getting your Google Ads for Free came out. Seems that few, if any at all, had actually purchased or even used the product they were telling their lists would/could/should ”(put your favorite 3 exclamation point header text here)!!! -Only (pick a number) Left!!!” The worst part for me was finding “trade-off” testimonials: Goo-Roo A saying how awesome it was on Goo-Roo B’s web site and visa-versa. Shame on them.)

I am not rich, and it’s also not on my “To Do” list. (Comfortable, yes. Rich? Had G-d wanted me to be rich he would have given me a bunch of money, right?)

What am I? just a guy with a family trying hard to make a few (honest) bucks online.

Bottom line: If it’s crap I’ll say so, if I get a commission I’ll disclose it, if I didn’t buy it I won’t review it or recommend it.

Picking the Best Program

There are lots of affiliate programs. Hundreds, probably thousands. the hard part isn't finding an affiliate program, it's finding one or two that are the best fit for you...and for your blog.

A good rule to follow is Keep It Simple. Apply for affiliate programs that offer products or services relevant to your site. If your Blogs theme is Domain Registration, seek out affiliate programs that are related- like web site hosting, Webmaster tools, templates and software. There is nothing that screams "amateur" louder than ads that stand out like a Canadian tourist in South Central (or discount pharmacy ads on an addiction support website) It might take a little more work, but even the smallest of niches can find affiliate programs that are a good fit.
